Saints of the Day: Seven Founders of the Order for Servites

According to the Divine Office, seven holy men in Italy with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother preached throughout Tuscany and founded the Order of Servites, approved by the Holy See in 1304. One of them, Alexis Flaconieri, entered Eternal Life on Feb. 17, 1330.

Saint of the Day: Saint Peter Damian

According to the Divine Office, Saint Peter Damian was born in Ravenna in 1007. After starting out as a teacher, he became a prior of a religious community, and promoted religious life with zeal in Italy. Later he assisted Popes with works, writings and missions on behalf of reform. Pope Stephen IX appointed him Bishop and Cardinal. Saint Peter Damian entered Eternal Life in 1072.

Your Ways, O Lord, are Love and Truth to those who keep Your Covenant.
