During his homily for the canonization Mass, the Pontiff defined Mother Teresa as a \u201ctireless worker of mercy\u201d, and held her up as a \u201cmodel of holiness\u201d for the numerous representatives of the \u201cthe whole world of volunteers\u201d present at the celebration. \u201cHow many hearts\u201d, the Pontiff said, \u201chave been comforted by volunteers! How many hands they have held; how many tears they have wiped away; how much love has been poured out in hidden, humble and selfless service!\u201d.
