“One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked Him, ‘Which is the first of all the commandments?’ Jesus replied, ‘The first is this: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other Commandment greater than these.'”
“Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed. Some of them said, ‘By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.’ … He knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? … But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you. … * * * Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters.'”
“Jesus said to His Disciples: ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. … But whoever obeys and teaches these Commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.'”
“Peter approached Jesus and asked Him, ‘Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. …'”
“… For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have Eternal Life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be Saved through Him. …”
“[Jesus] made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves He said,
‘Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father’s house a marketplace.’
His Disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for Your House will consume Me. …”
“‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. * * * Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.'”
Jesus said to His Disciples: ‘Be merciful, just as your Father is Merciful. Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. … Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you …'”
“…Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain … He was Transfigured before them … His clothes became dazzling white … Elijah appeared to them along with Moses, and they were conversing with Jesus. …”
“‘… Who do you say that I AM?’ … ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus said … ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. … flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. …'”
