“… when the Spirit of Truth blows where He Wills (cf. Jn 3:8) the words of each nation become common in the mouth of the Church. Since that day Showers of Charisms and Streams of Blessings have watered every desert and every wilderness (cf. Is 35:6), for in order to renew the face of the earth (cf. Ps 103:30), ‘God’s Spirit hovered over the waters’ (Gen 1:2), and to dispel the old darkness flashes of a new light appeared, while from the splendour of sparking tongues sprang the ardent Word of the Lord and His Fiery Destiny (cf. Ps 18:9), in which is found efficacy to enlighten and strength to burn in order to form minds and conquer sin.”
“We pray to the most kind Father through you, His only-begotten Son, who for us became Man, was crucified and Glorified, that He send us out of His Treasures the Spirit of Sevenfold Grace who rested upon you in all fullness: the Spirit, I say, of Wisdom … Understanding … Counsel … Fortitude … Knowledge … Piety, by which we may acquire a merciful heart; the gift of Fear, by which we may draw away from all evil and be set at peace by submitting in awe to Your Eternal Majesty. …”
“When the time for #Pentecost was fulfilled,
they were all in one place together.
And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,
and it filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them Tongues as of Fire,
which parted and came to rest on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in different tongues,
as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. …”
“… On the last and greatest day of the feast,
#Jesus stood up and exclaimed,
‘Let anyone who thirsts come to Me and drink.
As #Scripture says:
Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me.’
He said this in reference to the Spirit
that those who came to believe in Him were to receive.”
“R. The just will gaze on Your Face, O Lord.
or:
R. Alleluia.
The LORD searches the just and the wicked;
the lover of violence he hates.
For the LORD is Just, He loves just deeds;
the upright shall see His Face.”
“St. Charles and many other martyrs for the faith died between November 15, 1885 – January 27, 1887 in Namugongo, Uganda. St. Charles and his companions were beatified in 1920 and canonized by Pope Paul VI in 1964. …
“‘And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord’ (Lk 1:45). 1. With this greeting, the elderly Elizabeth exalts her young kinswoman Mary, who has come, humble and modest, to help her. Under the impulse of the Holy Spirit, the mother of the Baptist is the first in the history of the Church to begin to proclaim the marvels that God has brought about in the girl from Nazareth, and sees fully realized in Mary the bliss of faith, because she has believed there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord. …”
“#Mary set out
and traveled to the hill country in haste
to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah
and greeted #Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the #HolySpirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
‘Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the Fruit of your Womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the Mother of my Lord should come to me? …”
