USCCB RSS Feed<\/h3>\n<style>\nh3.hungryfeed_feed_title {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_feed_description {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_feed_content {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_items {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_item {margin-bottom: 10px;}\ndiv.hungryfeed_item_title {font-weight: bold;}\ndiv.hungryfeed_item_description {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_item_author {}\ndiv.hungryfeed_item_date {}\n<\/style>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n\/\/ Custom Javascript here...\n<\/script>\n<div class=\"hungryfeed_items\">\n<div class=\"hungryfeed_item\">\n<div class=\"hungryfeed_item_title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/readings\/061926.cfm\" >Friday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"hungryfeed_item_description\"><h4>Reading I <a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/2kings\/11?1\">2 Kings 11:1-4, 9-18, 20<\/a><\/h4> \n<div class=\"poetry\"> \n  <p><span>When Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah,<\/span><br><span>saw that her son was dead,<\/span><br><span>she began to kill off the whole royal family.<\/span><br><span>But Jehosheba, daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah,<\/span><br><span>took Joash, his son, and spirited him away, along with his nurse,<\/span><br><span>from the bedroom where the princes were about to be slain.<\/span><br><span>She concealed him from Athaliah, and so he did not die.<\/span><br><span>For six years he remained hidden in the temple of the LORD,<\/span><br><span>while Athaliah ruled the land.<\/span><br><br><span>But in the seventh year,<\/span><br><span>Jehoiada summoned the captains of the Carians<\/span><br><span>and of the guards.<\/span><br><span>He had them come to him in the temple of the LORD,<\/span><br><span>exacted from them a sworn commitment,<\/span><br><span>and then showed them the king\u2019s son.<\/span><br><br><span>The captains did just as Jehoiada the priest commanded.<\/span><br><span>Each one with his men, both those going on duty for the sabbath<\/span><br><span>and those going off duty that week,<\/span><br><span>came to Jehoiada the priest.<\/span><br><span>He gave the captains King David\u2019s spears and shields,<\/span><br><span>which were in the temple of the LORD.<\/span><br><span>And the guards, with drawn weapons,<\/span><br><span>lined up from the southern to the northern limit of the enclosure,<\/span><br><span>surrounding the altar and the temple on the king\u2019s behalf.<\/span><br><span>Then Jehoiada led out the king\u2019s son<\/span><br><span>and put the crown and the insignia upon him.<\/span><br><span>They proclaimed him king and anointed him,<\/span><br><span>clapping their hands and shouting, \u201cLong live the king!\u201d<\/span><br><br><span>Athaliah heard the noise made by the people,<\/span><br><span>and appeared before them in the temple of the LORD.<\/span><br><span>When she saw the king standing by the pillar, as was the custom,<\/span><br><span>and the captains and trumpeters near him,<\/span><br><span>with all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets,<\/span><br><span>she tore her garments and cried out, \u201cTreason, treason!\u201d<\/span><br><span>Then Jehoiada the priest instructed the captains<\/span><br><span>in command of the force:<\/span><br><span>\u201cBring her outside through the ranks.<\/span><br><span>If anyone follows her,\u201d he added, \u201clet him die by the sword.\u201d<\/span><br><span>He had given orders that she<\/span><br><span>should not be slain in the temple of the LORD.<\/span><br><span>She was led out forcibly to the horse gate of the royal palace,<\/span><br><span>where she was put to death.<\/span><br><br><span>Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD as one party<\/span><br><span>and the king and the people as the other,<\/span><br><span>by which they would be the LORD\u2019s people;<\/span><br><span>and another covenant, between the king and the people.<\/span><br><span>Thereupon all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal<\/span><br><span>and demolished it.<\/span><br><span>They shattered its altars and images completely,<\/span><br><span>and slew Mattan, the priest of Baal, before the altars.<\/span><br><span>Jehoiada appointed a detachment for the temple of the LORD.<\/span><br><span>All the people of the land rejoiced and the city was quiet,<\/span><br><span>now that Athaliah had been slain with the sword<\/span><br><span>at the royal palace.<\/span><br>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n        <h4>Responsorial Psalm <a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/132?11\">Psalm 132:11, 12, 13-14, 17-18<\/a><\/h4> \n<div class=\"poetry\"> \n  <p><span>R.
