And if a house is divided against itself, \u00a0that house will not be able to stand.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, those attempting to malign Jesus&#8217; Power run into another problem. They are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God, and acts with Power because He is God, and He acts through the Holy Spirit. So by maligning the Spirit by which Jesus acts, saying He acts through an unclean spirit, the detractors are blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus explains that blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is an unpardonable sin.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;&#8230; Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them.\u00a0But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin.&#8217;\u00a0For they had said, &#8216;He has an unclean spirit.&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We recall that the Holy Spirit is the Mutual Love of the Father for the Son, and the Son of God for God the Father. So a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, in addition to being a blasphemy against the ineffable Creative Power of God, is an insult against the beautiful Love of God, including that special relationship between God the Father and God the Son.<\/p>\n<h3>RESPONSORIAL PSALM<\/h3>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/110:1\" href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/110:1\" target=\"_blank\">PSALM 110:1, 2, 3, 4<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Proclaim God\u2019s Marvelous Deeds to all the nations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"padding:10px;\">\r\n<div style=\"float:left;\">\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div style=\"float:right;padding-right:75px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tkqlhce.com\/58116uoxuowBJFKCLHGBDCJHDFHF\" target=\"_blank\" onmouseover=\"window.status='http:\/\/www.TrinityRoad.com';return true;\" onmouseout=\"window.status=' ';return true;\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ftjcfx.com\/gg77nswkqo9HDIAJFE9BAHFBDFD\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n<h3>FIRST READING<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/2timothy\/1:1\">FIRST READING: 2 Timothy 1:1-8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saint Paul exhorts Timothy to recall and stir up the spirit of power, love and discipline granted by God and to bear his share of hardship for the Gospel accordingly.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; I remind you to stir into flame\u00a0the Gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.\u00a0For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice\u00a0but rather of power and love and self-control.\u00a0So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord,\u00a0nor of me, a prisoner for his sake;\u00a0but bear your share of hardship for the Gospel\u00a0with the strength that comes from God.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Recall that the imposition of hands Paul mentions undoubtedly refers to the laying on of hands in ordination. Sacraments have a spiritual and physical component, and ordination includes a laying on of hands.<\/p>\n<p><em>or<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/titus\/1:1\">FIRST READING: Titus 1:1-5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saint Paul greets Titus, recalling that\u00a0religious truth includes a focus on hope for Eternal Life, promised by God since before time began.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Paul, a slave of God and Apostle of Jesus Christ\u00a0for the sake of the Faith of God\u2019s chosen ones\u00a0and the recognition of religious truth,\u00a0in the hope of Eternal Life that God, who does not lie, promised before time began &#8230;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul left Titus in Crete to continue work remaining to be done, and to appoint presbyters in every town, <a title=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/titus\/1:1#64001005-1\" href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/titus\/1:1#64001005-1\" target=\"_blank\">which the NABRV editors explain is a term essentially meaning bishop &#8211; in the Greek,\u00a0presbyteros and\u00a0episkopos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For this reason I left you in Crete\u00a0so that you might set right what remains to be done\u00a0and appoint presbyters in every town, as I directed you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"width:50%;
