I come to gather nations of every language;<br \/>\nthey shall come and see My Glory.<br \/>\nI will set a sign among them;<br \/>\nfrom them I will send fugitives to the nations:<br \/>\n&#8230; that have never heard of My Fame, or seen My Glory;<br \/>\nand they shall proclaim My Glory among the nations.<br \/>\nThey shall bring all your brothers and sisters from all the nations<br \/>\nas an offering to the LORD,<br \/>\n&#8230; do not disdain the Discipline of the Lord<br \/>\nor lose heart &#8230;<br \/>\nfor whom the Lord loves, He disciplines;<br \/>\n* * *<br \/>\nEndure your trials as &#8216;discipline&#8217;;<br \/>\n&#8230; later [discipline] brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness<br \/>\nto those who are trained by it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees.<br \/>\nMake straight paths &#8230;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We are exhorted to take heart and forge ahead with resolve to follow God and carry out what He calls us to.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, this is not a formula for submissiveness or quietism, but rather heroic perseverance.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;\">\r\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- faith-wp-respons-2 -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3210937145558786\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"5586646142\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script>\r\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div>\n<h3>GOSPEL<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/bible\/luke\/13:22\" target=\"_blank\">GOSPEL: Luke 13:22-30<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jesus cautions that not all will enter into Eternal Life, including some who felt they knew Him, even though they truly did not.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, even as some are excluded, among those who will be included will be those who come to Christ later.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;Strive to enter through the narrow gate,<br \/>\nfor many, I tell you, will attempt to enter<br \/>\nbut will not be strong enough.<br \/>\n* * *<br \/>\nAfter the master of the house has arisen and locked the door,<br \/>\n&#8230; will you stand outside knocking and saying,<br \/>\n\u2018Lord, open the door &#8230;.\u2019<br \/>\n&#8230; you will say,<br \/>\n\u2018We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.\u2019<br \/>\nThen he will say to you,<br \/>\n\u2018I do not know where you are from.<br \/>\nDepart from me, all you evildoers!\u2019<br \/>\nAnd there will be wailing and grinding of teeth<br \/>\nwhen you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob<br \/>\nand all the prophets in the kingdom of God<br \/>\nand you yourselves cast out.<br \/>\n&#8230; people &#8230; from the east and the west<br \/>\n&#8230; the north and the south<br \/>\n&#8230; will recline at table in the Kingdom of God. &#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Those excluded are addressed as evildoers.<\/p>\n<p>We also see that Christ exhorts us to strive; Jesus tells us, &#8220;Strive to enter through the narrow gate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So the message from Christ is not passive acceptance of evil, but a rejection of evil.
