&#8216;What is written in the law? &#8230;<br \/>\n[The scholar] said in reply,<br \/>\n&#8216;You shall love the Lord, your God,<br \/>\nwith all your heart,<br \/>\nwith all your being,<br \/>\nwith all your strength,<br \/>\nand with all your mind,<br \/>\nand your neighbor as yourself.&#8217;<br \/>\n[Jesus] replied &#8230; &#8216;You have answered correctly;<br \/>\ndo this and you will live.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The scholar of the law asks, &#8220;who is my neighbor?&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;And who is my neighbor?&#8221;<br \/>\n* * *<br \/>\n&#8216;A man fell victim to robbers<br \/>\n* * *<br \/>\n&#8230; a Samaritan traveler who came upon him<br \/>\nwas moved with compassion &#8230;.<br \/>\nHe &#8230;. poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them.<br \/>\n&#8230; he &#8230; took him to an inn, and cared for him.<br \/>\n* * *<br \/>\nWhich of these three &#8230;<br \/>\nwas neighbor to the robbers&#8217; victim?&#8217;<br \/>\nHe answered, &#8216;The one who treated him with mercy.&#8217;<br \/>\nJesus said &#8230; &#8216;Go and do likewise.&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Notice how Jesus takes the question of &#8220;who is my neighbor&#8221; and turns it around to ask, who acts as a neighbor.
